The Most Amazing Squishmallows Halloween Party – Easy & Inexpensive Ideas

Welcome to our Squishmallows Halloween Party!  Chances are if you have a little one, you’re more than familiar with the adorable, huggable Squishmallows!  So you may be well aware that these adorable plushies come in Halloween form around this season!  We recently celebrated a birthday with a Squishmallows Party and so decided to host a Halloween version!  Read on to check out our budget-friendly and low prep ideas 🙂

DECORATIONS

For this party, we went with a Pumpkin Patch-like setting – lots of pumpkins, lots of easy-to-find harvest decorations, and lots of Squishmallows 🙂  This made decorations pretty easy – pumpkins are super easy to find around Halloween (and make for great decorations or activities after as well).   If you have any of those items & don’t mind having them around the party area, bring them out for all to enjoy!

We also used black and orange colored items throughout the area as well as felt shaped bats.

THE PHOTO AREA

Photo backdrops are a great way of setting a theme and double as a nice and easy activity!  Pick a backdrop that functions as decorative, add a few props to the scene and you’ve got a great place to hang out!

For our photo area, we went with a simple fall background and set out some huggable Squishmallows!   If you have any extra Halloween costumes, witches hats, or other goofy glasses, lay those out too!

Note, you don’t have to go all out with a photo backdrop stand either.  Grab a few pieces of tape and an empty wall & you’re all set!

THE TABLE

With just a few basic Halloween colors & Squishmallows themed items, you can create the PERFECT Squishmallows Halloween Table.

For this table, we took inspiration from the label on the Squishmallows Halloween Blind Single Plush toys, which are super cute & collectable – you can find them in Target, Walgreens, Marianos, etc…   The label has the Squishmallows letters on it against an orange backdrop with spiderwebs & bats – very Halloween-y 🙂

For our table settings, we used basic black cups and plates along, orange napkins, and black and white bat dinner plates.  (The link to these bat plates doesn’t seem to work anymore, but here are a few alternatives: Black & White Bats & Witches Plates, Halloween Spooky Dinner Plate).  We also filled a small black snack cup with some orange wrapped candy 🙂

For the center, we reused the Squishmallow Letters & Trivia Cards from our Squishmallows Party (which can be found on our printables page here).  Rather than lay them out on the table, we placed them on top of an orange runner.  Then we added some felt bats from the Dollar Tree, though alternatively you could cut some bat shapes out of black construction paper too!

PARTY FOOD

No party is complete without some party food!  You can always serve some typical (or fancier) party food, but you can also keep in theme with a few clever labels or snacks 🙂

Some of our food ideas from our Squishmallows Party made their way back into this Halloween one, though we did add some Harvest Squishmallows Squad members for those fall favorites 🙂

Pippie’s Pumpkin Pie Stand –

  • Pumpkin Pie
  • Other pumpkin treats

Pommie’s Beverage Stand:

  • Apple Cider
  • Apple Juice

Cornelius Roasted Corn –

  • Corn
  • Corn tortilla chips

ACTIVITY TABLE(S)

We typically set up an activity table for kids to keep entertained while everyone arrives AND after all the games are done.  These activities are simple and easy and typically don’t require too much supervision.

We did have a TON of Squishmallows themed activities for our Squishmallows Party. The games and activities would work well for a Halloween Party too – just add a few more Halloween decorations around the tables to give it more of a Halloween feel.

BUT, we also set up a few traditional Halloween themed activities (pumpkin decorating, bat & spider crafts, etc).  We placed the corresponding Squishmallows in those stations 🙂

GIVEAWAYS AND GOODIE BAGS

What’s a party without a few giveaways 🙂  In keeping with the theme, we wanted to go with a one, slightly pricier gift – Squishmallows Halloween Blind Single Plush toys 🙂
