Gnomes Galore!  It seems these mythical creatures are just about everywhere – even Easter!  You can even find quite a few gnomes with some bunny ears 🙂

What exactly are Gnomes? Well, they’re woodland creatures that are typically characterized with large hats that cover their eyes, fluffy and full beards, and a prominent big oval nose. And for whatever reason, they’ve become extremely popular and pop up everywhere on holidays, so you can definitely find them in dollar stores, craft stores, and around most decorations!

Now, our family first caught the affection for these adorable creatures during the Christmas Holidays (check out our Christmas Gnome-Themed Party or our Christmas Gnome Treasure Hunt).  So, of course, when we stumbled upon a few bunny eared gnomes, we had to pick them up and add them to our Easter baskets and celebration!   Read through to check out our Easter Gnome-themed ideas 🙂

DECORATIONS

While you could always go with standard spring or Easter decorations, we found a few Easter Gnome items that would work great to add to an Easter Gnome themed party: Easter Gnome Garden Flag and Easter Themed Welcome Gnome Sign.  There are also quite a few Easter Gnome Items at the Dollar Tree that you can pick up and arrange around the area 🙂

We like to add some themed items that work well as decorations but also double as part of our party games and this party isn’t any different 🙂  Our Gnome Search for the Christmas Holiday worked really well, so we created an Easter Gnome version and plan on setting up the images all over the area 🙂

THE PHOTO AREA

Photo backdrops are a great way of setting a theme and double as a nice and easy activity!  Pick a backdrop that functions as decorative, add a few props to the scene and you’ve got a great place to hang out!

You could always go with a springtime background and add some plush or Easter gnome decorations, but if you’re looking for some banners and backdrops with Easter gnomes on them, check these out: Easter Gnome Banner and Easter Gnome Backdrop.

Note, you don’t have to go all out with a photo backdrop stand either.  Grab a few pieces of tape and an empty wall & you’re all set!

THE TABLE

With just a few Easter and Gnome themed items, you can create an awesome table perfect for your little ones!

Using just a handful of Dollar Tree Gnome items and a few extra supplies, you can create a very cute Easter Gnome Themed table 🙂

First, start off with each table setting & create a simple (& functional) gnome plate.  Each plate setting is a cute little gnome with plates, napkins, bunny ears, and Easter eggs.  On this table, we used an Oval Palm Leaf plate but you could use any oval-shaped plate. Set the plate on top of the bunny ears.  Then we fold two different napkin colors into triangle shapes for the hat and beard. On top of the napkins, we add half of the egg as the nose 🙂   Instant Easter Gnome 🙂

On this table, we also put an Easter Plush Gnome into an Easter Gnome Tin along with some other goodies by each gnome plate.  The “centerpiece” is a simple scene with more Easter Plush Gnomes, and the table “scatter” are a few mini Felt Easter Gnome Ornaments.

ACTIVITY TABLE(S)

We typically set up an activity table for kids to keep entertained while everyone arrives AND after all the games are done.  These activities are simple and easy and typically don’t require too much supervision.

For this one, you can have any number of easter gnome crafts, many of which are very easy.

  • Color Your Own Easter Gnome – This one is a simple wood slice that kids can color on their own.
  • DIY No Sew, Upcycled Easter Gnome – This is our version of a very simple, (link coming soon)
  • Paper Easter Gnomes – Get creative and use some construction paper or markers to create your own Easter Gnome (or use our template).

GAMES & ACTIVITIES

What’s a party without some fun and memorable games??? Kids will definitely have fun just running around and coming up with their own games, BUT adding in a few themed games will definitely be a hit with your guests! Here were a few of ours.

  • Finding Mini Felt Gnomes – If you’re able to pick up a few packets of the Felt Easter Gnome Ornaments from the Dollar Tree, then you can do a fun search with those!  You can also add a bit of a challenge by hiding them in Easter Eggs.  And for even more of a challenge, you can also hide some additional Easter Eggs that are either empty or have a different prize 🙂
  • Finding Paper Gnomes – If you have a good number of Easter gnome decorations, you could ask the guests to find as many as they can.  We had a Christmas Gnome themed party a few months ago and ended up creating some gnome images since we didn’t have enough Christmas Gnomes.  This was such a hit that we decided to create an Easter Gnome version.  Check below for images.  Feel free to use the gnome images for your own personal use, link back here, and/or save the post 🙂
  • Gnome Dress Up Relay – If you happen to have any Fake White Beards and extra floppy hats lying around, you can have a gnome dress up relay!

EASTER GNOME SEARCH

For this gnome search, you can print out as many of the gnome images as you’d like. (Again, feel free to use the gnome images for your own personal use, link back here, and/or save the post). The actual answer for the sheet will depend on how many you’ve printed 😉

BASKETS

And last but not least, don’t forget the Easter Baskets!  If you’re keeping in the Gnome theme, there are some Gnome Felt Baskets that you can pick up from the Dollar Tree (our tin pails are also from the Dollar Tree but we couldn’t find a link to it).  Add in an adorable Easter Plush Gnome, a Gnome Squishy Toy, some goodies, and you’re all set!
