A New Year’s Eve Scavenger Hunt – A Fun Look Back at the Year

If you’re looking for a fun way to recap the year and ring in the new one, try out a Year in Review Scavenger Hunt!   Rather than sending family and friends on quests to find objects around the house, this one challenges all to find favorites from the year, draw or act out memorable moments, and perform some New Year fun 🙂   Read on to check out the details!

THE SCAVENGER HUNT DETAILS

The idea is simple – think of a few things that you’d love to remember from the year and turn them into a scavenger hunt task.  We also mixed in a few other tasks just to vary it up a bit.  Here’s a few of ours that brought a few smiles and stories.  Pick and chose the ones that you think will bring some smiles to your evening and/or add a few more just for your group! Print or write them out on cards or just say them out loud each round!

  • Find the video game you played most this year
  • Say all the months in a year – in order!
  • Now, Say all the months in a year – in alphabetical order!
  • Find ONE ingredient from a new recipe/dish you learned or tried this year
  • Say the sentence 5x quickly: “Five frantic fireflies flew fast, past the fiery,  fanciful, fireworks”
  • Find a few sheets of paper and a pen or pencil
  • Write at least ONE New Years Resolution
  • Draw a comic of your the most hilarious moment from the past year
  • Find the book you read this past year that you loved the most!
  • Find the book you’re most excited to read next year
