Welcome to an AMAZING Frozen Party!   Frozen is such a great move and we’re here to celebrate!!!  Check out our ideas on decorations, crafts, and frozen themed party games!  Read on to check out the fun!

DECOR

If you can pick up some winter themed crafts after the holiday season, you can get quite a bit of your decor at discounted prices!  Then just add a few Frozen decorations and you’ve immediately transformed your space into a Frozen party area 🙂  For this party, we picked up a few Snowflake Craft Shapes, Christmas Glitter Poinsettia Flowers, and snowflake napkins.

Bring out your kiddo’s favorite Frozen toys (that they don’t mind sharing) and spread them out around the tables!  Figurines and stuffed animals make great decorative additions to sitting areas while Frozen themed games can be laid around guests to get into the Frozen spirit and play on their own.

A backdrop is also a great way to dress up a room and doubles a fun activity!  For this party, we set up some “ice blocks” which also allowed the kiddos to build and play then pose for memorable pictures!   Click here to check out our how-to guide on upcycled DIY snow blocks!  Definitely a big hit!

FOOD & DRINKS

With a few clever labels, you can make most foods feel like they’re frozen-themed 🙂

Appetizers:

  • Reindeer Fuel – Carrots
  • Reindeer Treats – Pretzels

Main Course:

  • Sandwiches – Anna’s favorite

Dessert:

  • Arendelle’s Finest Ice – Blue Jello Cubes
  • Snowy Snacks – We used white chocolate covered pretzels but you could use anything covered in white chocolate or yogurt (raisins, almonds, etc).
  • Marshmallow Snowman Table – Lay out a few different sized marshmallows, pretzel sticks, chocolate chips and a few icing tubs (to glue the pieces together) and let them go crazy with the “best” snowman they can make AND then eat!

Drinks:

  • Reindeer Water Bottles.  We followed this craft by distillata.com: Reindeer Water Bottle Holiday Craft.  If you’ve got some extra time or want to get your birthday kiddo in the mood AND helping out, they might love creating these simple reindeer water bottles.  Add a picture or figurine of Sven next to them and you’ve got a whole reindeer herd 🙂

THE CRAFT TABLE

For most of our parties, we typically set up a craft or activity table.  Most kids will check this table out before or after the games.  It’s a nice, low-key way of keeping kids entertained if you’ve gotten through all your planned games!

For this party, we had a few winter-themed activities that were inexpensive and easy to set up.

  • Beaded Pipe Cleaner Snowflake from www.onelittleproject.com.  For this one, we picked up a few glitter pipe cleaners and pony beads and let them decorate the snowflakes.   We did have a few snowflakes already shaped on the table so they could just add their beads.  (For us this was the hardest part as we had younger children.  If you do have a smaller or less crafty group, you may want to have a good handful of pipe cleaners already shaped for them)
  • Reindeer Bag/Puppet Creation from www.sippycupmom.com.  This one is meant to be Rudolph, but we swapped out the red nose for a black one and called them Sven 🙂  If you can make it out to the Dollar Store, you might be able to find all that’s needed (lunch paper bags, googly eyes, pom poms, construction paper).  Otherwise, you can pick these items up at most stores. We used glue dots to minimize the mess.

THE GUESSTIMATE TABLE

For the less-crafty bunch (and parents who wanted to join in on the fun!), we had a ‘Guesstimate” table. We filled some jars with a few extra items we used throughout the party (Mini Glitter Carrots, Blue Acrylic Gems, and Snowflake Craft Shapes). But you can really use anything you have around that match a winter or blue theme – mini bows, mini bells, etc.. You could even go the treat route with marshmallows, pretzels, chocolate chips. And while you can always buy a few jars for the occasion, you can also save and clean out ones already in your home. Then, add in anything that fits into your jars (And that you’re willing to count 😉 )

GAMES

For the games, we loosely followed the movie and told our little guests that we were on a quest to help “Save Anna from her Frozen Heart”.

  • Freeze Dancing.  Our first task was to make sure we could listen carefully AND show off our best ice sculpture pose.  It’s Frozen Freeze Dancing – when the soundtrack paused, every kid had to stand as still as an ice sculpture.
  • Get the Carrot – This one is a version of tag with a Frozen twist.  We had to make sure we had some reindeer to help us along the journey.  For this game, we had the birthday child be the “reindeer” with an antler headband.  The “reindeer” had a bag of carrots (we purchased a bag of Mini Glitter Carrots but you can use a bag of real carrots, rolled up orange construction paper).  Every time the birthday kid tagged a guest, they got a carrot.  Each kid took turns being “it” but got to keep their carrots.
  • Stack the Ice Blocks.  For this game, we used the blocks we set up for our photo area.  They had to create an ice palace – just like Elsa!
  • Meet the Rock Trolls.  After Anna visited Elsa’s ice palace, she had to pay a visit to the rock trolls.  For this game, we hid rocks around the party area and let them paint them using some paint pens.
  • Melt the Frozen Hearts.  AND just like Elsa had to melt a frozen heart, each kid got to melt one too!  We filled a Heart Ice Mold with water and Blue Acrylic Gems.  The goal was to melt the ice hearts so that they could keep the gems.   We had a few things they could use on the table (an empty teapot – they had to ask an adult for hot water, a few small chisels, a few small wooden hammers, etc).

GOODIE BAGS

For our goodie bags, we had typical snacks and candy but also added in a few winter and Frozen themed goodies – Snowflake Stickers, Snowflake Stress Balls, Blue Rock Candy Sticks, and Frozen pencils from the Dollar store. They also got to keep all the crafts they made throughout the party 🙂
