Kid Approved Fun & Friendly Treasure and Scavenger Hunts

Add in a little extra gift-giving fun by wrapping up the adventure in a treasure hunt or throw in some more games with fun-filled scavenger hunts. Happy Searching!

Try out a few ideas below and let us know how it goes!

TREASURE HUNTS

  • Hide the clues inside balloons.  This on was also mentioned in our balloon post.
  • If you’ve got the money to spend on a few trinkets, hide each clue with a wrapped present.  It doesn’t need to be anything big.  Many kids just like the idea of ripping open a present.  You can head over to the toy section of the dollar store or the clearance/sale section of a store and find balls, arts and crafts, candy, etc!!!
  • Instead of having random trinkets and toys, you can hide each clue with a piece of a puzzle or craft that they can build after they’ve found all the clues.

SCAVENGER HUNTS

  • If you’ve got a big party and you want to give everyone a chance to find the items, you can hide them around but ask the kids to jot down where they found them.  You can vary this by using print outs instead of actual items.
  • Virtual Scavenger Hunt.  Have a list of items that each person has to grab.  Whoever has the most winds.
  • Virtual Scavenger Hunt.  Instead of giving guests a list of items to find all at once, make it a race to find each item.  Tell or show on the screen what item they need to find.  Whomever comes back first gets a point.
